INTRODUCTION
Tractor pulling has been an extremely popular sport for several decades. The roots of tractor pulling can be traced back to an era when tractors had yet to be invented. Farmers and teamsters would challenge each other to see whose team of horses or mules could pull more. This of course perpetuated to pitting a team of horses against the early tractors, to the incredible 5000 horsepower Pro Stock tractors we can see on any given weekend throughout the summer months across the United States, and many parts of Europe and beyond.
Many of us enjoy a good board game, bingo, or card game occasionally, but how about enjoying a whole new challenge and level of fun? Whether it be around a table in your family room for pure family fun, or a fundraiser organized by a community organization.
Mech Tech Models supplies 1/32 scale tractor model kits for tractor pulling events. They are made using rapid 3D printing for all the plastic and rubber parts. The metal parts are produced on precision CNC machines. The completed tractors will weigh about ¾ of a pound. This weight may vary because of the variables in the 3D printing process and each specific design. All kits are supplied in an off-white plastic that is easy to finish with your colors of choice. (Photos of models in color are only samples using colored materials and were not painted as such).
There are 3 classes of tractors available to compete in these events.
Stock: Kits are supplied with a stock frame, one battery connector and one motor. They are also supplied with 10 suitcase style weights and two weight brackets, one front and one rear.
Super Stock: Twin Turbo II motor frame, roll cage, one, (stock) or two motors, (super stock), and one battery connector. 10 suitcase weights with two brackets front and rear.
Pro stock: Let’s go WHOLE HOG! Twin Turbo II motor frame, roll cage, two motors and two battery connectors, along with chrome accessories. 10 suitcase weights
Weight classes: Each of the above classes may be divided into more than one weight class. Use the 10 suitcase weights and brackets to properly ballast the tractor.
If you are already involved in pulling, you can “scratch that itch” during the off season.
If you are new to pulling, you must be forewarned, you will be HOOKED! (pun intended)
Frames
Stock: Has a place for one, 90-degree, gearmotor
Twin Turbo: Has two 90-degree, gearmotor positions.
Motors
90-degree 6-volt 200 rpm gearmotor: Yellow all plastic, light weight, least expensive. (Our standard motor)
90-degree 6-volt 110 rpm gearmotor: Blue, plastic case with metal gears. Slightly heavier, more robust than the yellow gearmotor. Less rpm but better quality and may deliver power more efficiently.
